They say talent means nothing without hard work and dedication. A.J Milla (formally know as RUSH) possesses both. Traits which are the perfect ingredients at being successful.
Milla was introduced to R&B and Hip Hop at an early age. It didnt take long for him to begin dreaming and aspiring to be like some of his favorite artist he listen to on the radio. Influenced by artist such as, B.I.G, Lost Boyz , Bone Thugz and Harmony, Lauren Hill and Lil Wayne. Milla began to experiment with his own voice and rhyming skills. At the tender age of 13 Milla wrote his first rhyme. His high school peers were the perfect audience and provided a great platform to showcase his music. His skills quickly progressed and he soon teamed up with a neighborhood friend, creating the rap duo Playbeezy N Rush also known as YNR. Entering and performing at local talent shows quickly began to give these two word-smiths a small buzz.
It wasnt long before they started getting noticed in the DMV area. Releasing a series of mixtapes “The Grind Vol 1- Vol 3, led to major networking opportunities and chances to open for industry artists such as Maino,Graph, and B5. They worked with many prominent DJ’s and producers in the DMV area, such as 2 Face ya Wild Boy (Midieast), DJ Rob (Target Sqaud), Tone P, and Judah.
The duo Dismembered in late 2010. Milla, now solo, is taking on the industry finding his niche. He continues to bring something new and different to the table. Keep your eyes and most importantly, your ears open because you will hear alot more from A.J Milla in the near future.
